GOD-PARENTING: A CHRISTAIN SAFETY NET
In
my pastor’s “Book of Worship” from the
United Church of Christ, the “Sacrament” of “Baptism is laid out. It mentions
sponsors, aka “God-Parents” who with the parents promise to bring the young
children to a profession of faith in Jesus.
In
many places in the “Christian” world-wide community of faith, these sponsors , or
God-parents serve as pay-day lender, employers whatever it takes to support the
parents in their tasks of bringing the children to Christ. It is a “ Christian”
social, “Safety net”
With that in mind read the rite.

QUESTIONS OF THE
CANDIDATES
INFANTS AND YOUNG CHILDREN
These questions may be used when the candidates are unable
to speak for themselves. If more than one child is to be baptized, all parents
and sponsors may respond in unison.
Do you desire to have your children baptized into the
faith and family of Jesus Christ?
We do.
Will you teach these children that they may be led to
profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior?
We will with the help of God.
